Wanda Harless

July 20, 1929 — March 27, 2022

On a beautiful sunny Saturday Wanda D. "Nudie" Harless was born in Moody, OK, to HR & Jane(Chaudoin) Vann. She went to school at Moodys through the 8th grade, then went on to Bagley in Tahlequah. That is where she met and married Lloyd "Red' Harless.

They raised three children, Lloyd Dean, Sandra Long, and Joe Dale.

They owned and operated the Townhouse Cafeteria for over 20 years. They fed high school and college students, it was some of the best chicken fried steaks around. You still hear former students talk of the great food at great prices.

When they sold the cafeteria, she began working at Sequoyah High School cafeteria. Students bragged that she always put them first. She made sure that they had a cake and made them feel special. When she retired from Sequoyah High School in 1995, she worked a few years with Cherokee Nation Adult Education. She traveled with her sister Wilma from coast to coast. They went everyplace always together, you hardly ever saw one without the other.

Wanda loved to watch all kinds of sports. While at Sequoyah High School, she was given a lifetime pass to all the ballgames. She missed very few football games on TV. She watched OU football and Dallas Cowboys, even knew all of their names and numbers.

She loved to fish and plant a garden. Wanda was always making sure everyone got enough to eat. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Those that she will see again in Heaven are her husband Lloyd "Red" Harless, mother and father HR and Jane (Chaudoin) Vann, brother Watie Vann. She is survived by her three children and sister.

Those left to miss her are: Children Dean(Kitty) Harless of Tahlequah, Sandra (George) Long of Tahlequah, and Joe Dale (Dawn) Harless of Georgia. Sister Wilma Vann of Tahlequah, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
