Wayne Heaton

April 20, 1925 — October 22, 2015

Wayne Heaton the son of James A. and Myrtle (Baker) Heaton was born April 20, 1925 in Cherokee County and departed this life on October 22, 2015 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Tahlequah and after working out on the pipeline and in construction he went into business for himself here in Tahlequah. He owned several different businesses in Tahlequah and finally was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of raising and training Quarter Horses in his later years. He was married to Patricia Heaton for over 61 years and they helped each other fulfill their dreams throughout their lives together. Wayne served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was very proud of his service. Wayne touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 61 years Patricia Heaton; and his brother James C. Heaton.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his brother Norman Heaton and wife Betty of Smithville, OK; his sister Elizabeth Ann Satterfield of Grand Prairie, TX; his nephews Mike Heaton of Shawnee Hills, KS and Kevin Satterfield of Grand Prairie, TX. Several cousins, other relatives and friends also survive him.
