William McCormick Durnil II (Mac) was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 6, 1945. He passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. He lived in Muskogee, Oklahoma since childhood. Mac graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1963, University of Oklahoma, received a BA from the University of Arizona in 1967, and graduate degree from the University of Arkansas in Business Administration in 1969. Mac entered the U.S. Army Reserves and proudly served 6 months active duty and 5 ½ years reserve duty.
Memorial Service will be 11 AM, Friday, April 11, 2025 at Hart Funeral Home.
Beginning work for Leake Industries in 1970, Mac worked in every aspect of the KTUL Tulsa and KATV Little Rock television stations, Antique Inc. and Leake Collector Car Auction. In the mid-eighties he took on operations of WPRV television station in Puerto Rico.
Mac was a lifelong member of Sequoyah Club and served as Secretary/Treasurer for over 40 years. His many civic duties including Convention & Tourism division of the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce, Muskogee Vo-Tech, and a Director of the American Red Cross. Mac was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
Mac deeply loved his family and took great pride in his tireless work ethic.
Mac was preceded in death by Bill and Nancy Durnil, brother-in-law Charles B. Ryan and son Dr. Scott Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Jane Pool Griffin Durnil, children, Lari Durnil Moazami, husband Masoud Moazami, Courtney Durnil Bollich, husband Bobby Bollich, Will Griffin and wife Kim Griffin. The devoted grandfather of eight grandchildren Ana and Mia Moazami, Quincy and Zachary Lambert, Willa and Xavier Bollich, Jeff Gragg, Josh Griffin and wife Kenzie. Beloved sister, Sally Durnil Ryan and children Jenny Ryan Mills, Hayden Ryan and wife Autumn Ryan, Fletcher Ryan and wife Cassie Ryan. Great nephews and niece Merritt, Sawyer, Hutton and Lawson Mills, Charlie and Beau Ryan and Farryn Ryan. Cousins and dearest friends Johnny and Diane Reynolds and chosen sister Nancy Sevenoaks.
Affectionally known as names such as Doodle and Uncle Mac, he was the ultimate servant living by the motto "What can I do for you?"
