William Stopp

William Dale Stopp aka Bill, the son of Betsy W Stopp was born December 13, 1945, in Tahlequah, OK. He departed from this life on February 5, 2022, at the age of 76 years old.
He was raised in Tahlequah and at the age of 19, he joined the National Guard. He was drafted into the US Army in 1966 and he served 2 years in the Infantry division in Vietnam, 1967-68. He was granted an honorable discharge on November 30, 1969. He received a Purple Heart and other metals for combat during his time served in Vietnam. He then moved to Tulsa after his discharge and worked in a Grocery store and married his first wife, Charlotte Robinson, she had two children of her own that William raised, Robert Swensen, deceased, and Bryan Page, of Tahlequah, they later had two more sons, Jason Stopp of Tahlequah and Nathan Stopp of Edmond. William then moved back to Tahlequah and worked in this area as a Milkman until 1986. He then started his own business, Bill's Trash Service in 1987 until retirement.
In 1988 William began dating the love of his life, Rita McLemore, they were married in 1998. They were together for 34 years. Rita has two children that William took in as his own, Dwane McLemore of Tahlequah and Bobby Gale McLemore of Tahlequah. William and Rita together continued to operate the trash business up until his retirement in 2018. William enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and going to the Casino every chance he got.
William is survived by his wife Rita Stopp of the home and her two children Dwane and Bobby McLemore, of Tahlequah. Sons, Jason Stopp and wife Sonya of Tahlequah. Nathan Stopp and wife Shauna of Edmond. Bryan Page of Tahlequah. Grandchildren: Colton Stopp and wife Emily of Lawton, William Jacob Stopp and wife Celsey of Keys. Skylar Stopp of Ashland. Shyanna Stopp of Tahlequah. Briar, Bleau and Braxton Stopp of Edmond. Brayden Keltner and wife Melissa of Cushing. Amiee Hood of Tahlequah. Great grandchildren: Liam and Mason Coats of Tahlequah. Audrina, Charlotte, and Boston Stopp of Lawton. Raylee, Ellison, and Adaline Stopp of Keys. Sebastian Keltner of Cushing.
William is preceded in death by his mother Betsy W Stopp, his siblings; George Edward Stopp, Geneva Strawn, Genell Stopp, and Kenny Dale Stopp and his son Robert Swensen.
