William Thomas "Bill" Draper, 92, a resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was born in Weleetka, Oklahoma on November 10, 1931, to the late Paul Draper and Lottie (Lemons) Draper.
Funeral Service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at First Lutheran Church 2111 Mahaney Ave, Tahlequah, OK 74464. A graveside committal service will be 2:30 PM, on Wednesday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with military honors.
Bill retired after 33 years as a bus driver for AC Transit where he met the love of his life. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. William enjoyed fishing, playing the card game Cribbage and watching old John Wayne movies. Bill was a trustee of Post 6435 Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Antioch, California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Draper.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Draper, son, Thomas (Barbara) Walsh, brother, Michael (Sherry) Draper, sister-in-law, Ruth Draper, grandchildren, Gena (Matt) Pliss, Kristen Walsh, Katherine (Michael) Truesdale, Ailene TenBrook, and David (Ashlyn) TenBrook, several great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and loving friends.
