Funeral services for William Edward Epps Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah with Rev. Gary Starbuck officiating. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery.

William Edward Epps Jr. the son of William Edward Sr. and Lottie (Dixon) Epps was born June 14, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee and departed this life on July 26, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, 1 month and 12 days.

Willie enjoyed life and loved to talk to anyone and everyone. He enjoyed fishing, and watching his grandkids play sports. He came to Tahlequah in September of 1981 and taught at Markoma for several years. He later worked for the Cherokee County Sheriff, and the Tahlequah City Hospital EMS. He served as a dispatcher and jailer for the Tahlequah Police Department for over 20 years. Willie never met a stranger and was loved by many. He always did his best to help people. Willie touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his daughter Erika Mullen and husband Mike of Tahlequah; his uncles Clifford Epps and Byron Epps; his aunt Jewel Harwood; his grandchildren Tyler Mullen, Keegan Mullen and Domanic Mullen; and a friend that he considered a brother Brad Robertson. Many other friends and relatives also survive him.
