Witten James Stopp, precious baby boy of Jake Stopp and Andrea Rhodes, was due on August 10, 2021, and decided to make an early entrance into the world on May 10, 2021, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK weighing a little over 1 pound. He passed into the loving arms of God on July 9, 2021, in the St. Johns Medical Center NICU with his family by his side.
He was born a perfect little bundle of joy with dark hair, a precious little nose, hands and feet. He stole the hearts of all his nurses and doctors while he was in the NICU at both Hillcrest and St. Johns. Even though he was small, he had a personality and loved to give the nurses a hard time when they were trying to swaddle him by pulling his little arms out as soon as they were almost done swaddling him in his blanket. He was born with the cutest eyebrows, and they were all amazed over how he would communicate using them. After a long wait, his momma and daddy finally got to hold him, and he loved hearing his momma read the bible to him and hear everything about his siblings and family. Despite being so small he was a fighter and fought until the very end. The family was blessed to have gotten to spend quality time holding, loving, and admiring him during his time in the NICU. Although we will never get to watch Witten grow up and live his life, we are comforted by the fact that he is safe in the arms of Jesus and family members that have already passed on.
Witten is survived by a loving family which includes his parents, Jake Stopp and Andrea Rhodes, siblings, Christian Self, Dylan Stopp, Haley Stopp, Colin Rhodes and Cale Rhodes, his maternal grandmother, Marie Hamilton, and paternal grandmother, Melanie Stopp, paternal great grandmother, Susie Sanders, aunt, Amanda Stopp, uncle Michael Stopp, and a special cousin, Mia Stopp. Many other loved ones who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gary Stopp, and uncle Michael Hamilton, along other family members who are welcoming him home.
The family would like to thank the wonderful labor and delivery and NICU staff of both Hillcrest and St. John's Medical center for their overwhelming love, support and kindness during this difficult time. Thank you for allowing them to see their precious baby during a pandemic and allowing other family members to see him before he passed. You will always hold a special place in their hearts. This experience has brought them closer to God and their so grateful for every one of you.
