Corena Hayhurst

May 18, 1940 — September 25, 2022

Corena "Co" Hayhurst, age 82, loving mother of two, grandma of 4, great grandma of 4, and adoring wife to husband Johnny Hayhurst Sr., passed away in the early hours of the 25th of September after a courageous battle with Lymphoma. Co was born on May 18, 1940, in Teresita and grew up surrounded by her large family- she had 12 siblings including a twin sister, and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Co was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that as a mother and grandmother. As a mother she was generous, loving and kind. She was the best cook and always putting together a full spread on every holiday or family gathering. She never told any of her grandchildren off, and spoiled them as much as she possibly could. She also became a second grandmother to many others that came in and out of her life over the years. In her free time, Co loved taking care of her flowers and plants, spending time with her dog Axle and her cat Leann, and spending time with her family. She remained strong in her faith in God and dedicated her life to serving. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We know that we can't have her here but we're happy knowing that she has been reunited with our Grandpa Johnny, Grandma Leila, and so many others waiting for her to come Home. Goodbye to a wonderful woman we will love and miss you forever.

Corena is survived by her son: Johnny Jr., four grandkids: Crystal and Brad Cook, Heather Hayhurst, and Johnny Hayhurst III, four great grandchildren: Caylee Cook, Brad and Alexis Cook, Alex Cook, and Garrett Ling; her dog Axle, her cat Leann, and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
