Donald Scott

February 22, 1949 — March 10, 2021

Donald Ray Scott departed from this life on March 10, 2021, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years and 16 days surrounded by his loving family at his bedside. Don resided in the Tahlequah area his entire life. He was born to Sylvester and Pauline (Rattlinggourd) Scott on February 22, 1949 in Tahlequah, OK. He was the 5th child of 14 siblings.

He graduated Tahlequah High School in May 25, 1967. Upon graduating from High School Don didn't attend his graduation due to enlisting in the United States Army and was on a bus that night headed for Bootcamp. While home awaiting deployment Don met and fell in love with Debbie Elaine Torix and was married and from this union one daughter was born, Donna Elaine Scott.

Don proudly served his country 4 years active duty during the Vietnam war and 2 years Reserve while in the States. He earned a Purple Heart although, this was not known to family till his passing. Don was a very humble and worthy servant to his country.

After serving his country Don used the G.I. Bill to earn a Bachelor of Science at Northeastern State College and went on to Connors to pursue his degree in Heating and Air. He worked for W.W. Hastings Hospital and retired from there as Maintenance Supervisor. Donald loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed being with his cousin, Ray Ballard while seeking new adventures on their 4-wheelers and fishing expeditions with his brothers. Donald enjoyed going to the Casino every once in a while where he would meet up with friends and while the evening away. He also loved getting together with all his Veteran friends at McDonalds and Bryant's Donuts. He touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester "Dub" Scott and Pauline "Rattlinggourd" Scott. His sisters Ireva Scott, and Betty Ann Suazo; and his brothers Albert Scott, Ricky Lee Scott and Brent Dudley Scott.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his daughter Donna Scott of Tahlequah; his sisters Geniva Doenhoefer and husband Tony of Winnebago, NE, Linda Scally of Pauls Valley, OK, Mary Louise Stallings of Tahlequah, Glinda Neugin and husband Bobby of Lost City, Paullette Golden and husband David of Tahlequah, Debby Nodine and husband Randall of Tahlequah, and Rebecca Scott of Tahlequah, Howard Scott and wife Rita of Tahlequah. Several nieces, nephews,

great nieces and nephews and also too numerous to mention of friends, Veterans, and relatives.

Family has requested in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Disabled Veteran's Fund and Cancer Institute.
