Gary Harrington

January 29, 1946 — July 22, 2022

Gary Harrington passed from this life Friday July 22nd at the age of 76. He was born January 29, 1946 in McAlester, OK to Virgil and Esther (Patterson) Harrington.
He worked as a manager for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission until retirement in 1998. He enjoyed being involved in the community and served on various boards and committees including 27 years on the Northeastern Health System hospital board.

Before Gary started having health issues he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed working with his cattle. In his later years, he enjoyed collecting old coins, cooking and spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandsons. He proudly wore the title of "Grumpy" that his first grandchild named him.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Karen Harrington, daughters Heather Harrington of Mountain Home, AR; Denna Girder and Jake Mayfiled of Fort Gibson; Susan Weeks and Pat Newman of Tahlequah; Ashley Ray of Las Vegas; grandchildren Zach Weeks and Rachel of Hulbert; Anna, Mary Beth and Nobel Rogero of Mountain Home, AR; great grandsons Eastyn and Kash Weeks of Hulbert and sisters Gayle Edwards and Danny of Bartlesville and Sharon Fisher of Tahlequah along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Esther Harrington and brother in law Bruce Fisher. Gary will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
