Gary Rose

September 4, 1950 — November 6, 2022

Gary Wayne Rose of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away on November 6, 2022, at the age of 72. Gary was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on September 4, 1950 the son of Samuel and Marilyn (Hunt) Rose.

Gary was a simple man but had a heart of gold. You were never a stranger when around Gary. He had an artist mind and could create just about anything he put his mind to. Some of his favorite things were crafting Christmas wreaths and ornaments, miniature model houses, anything of oriental design and much more. He served in The United States Army for almost 3 years and spent 10 months of that time overseas in Vietnam, before being honorably discharged in 1972. Gary loved music and loved playing the keyboard. When he wasn't outside working on landscaping, he was watching his favorite shows such as Mash and Will of Fortune. Gary's kind heart and fun personality will never be forgotten. He will be missed sorely.

He is survived by a loving family, which includes his son, Jeremy Rose and wife Sheena; step son, David Shoemaker; brother, Gregory Allen Rose; grandchildren, Jordan Rose, Katie O'Connor, Millie Rose, Conner Rose and one grand baby on the way; nieces, Sherisse Ward, Brittany Whitman, Keisha Bellew, Destiny Cunningham, and Brandy Pruitt; nephews, Jayden Rose, Brandon Rose, Phillip Leonard and Rodney Leonard; as well as extended friends and family.
