Jesse Deere, 55, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 4, 2020. He was born to the late Judson Deere and Lena Christie in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 8, 1965.

Jesse grew up in Burnt Cabin, then lived in Tahlequah. He graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1983. He attended the University of Arkansas after High School. After a year of school he returned back to Tahlequah and started working in food services at Northeastern State University. He was employed there from 1985 until 2018 when he decided to go back to school full time at NSU. Before he became ill he decided to pursue Cherokee Education as his major. On January 24, 1987, Jesse married the love of his life, Lena, and they raised three children.

Jesse's hobbies were fishing, collecting comic books, going to the flea markets and yard sales, and watching Razorback sports, football, basketball and track. He was a Razorback fan and he loved teasing the church members at Boudinot Baptist Church because they are OU or OSU fans. Jesse pastored at the Boudinot Baptist Church for the past 11 years. He loved the church members and was always willing to help as best he could, and it didn't matter what time of day or night it was.

Jesse was preceded in death by his mom Lena Christie; his dad Judson Deere; his stepmom Nancy Deere; his grandparents Tom and Ellen Hicks; his brother Andy Christie; Aunts Jody Espinoza and Sally Adcock ; and uncle Tommy Hicks.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife Lena; three children Jeremy Deere and wife Stacy and their four sons: Leland age 10, Logan age 3 and twins Seth and Terry age 15 months, all of Tahlequah, Samuel Deere and wife Shelby of Canton, MI and Jesseca Deere of Tahlequah; his sisters Patsy Peterson of Coweta, Francis Duvall and husband Chester of Tahlequah and Sherrie Deere of Scramento, CA; and his brother David Deere of Glenpool; Uncles Leroy Hicks and wife Trish of Burnt Cabin, Wiley Hicks of Burnt Cabin and Alvin Hicks of Tahlequah; aunts Hanna and Shirley Deere of Okemah. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and church family also survive him.
