John Keen

John Francis Keen, was born on September 16th, 1970, in Tulsa OK to Ralph Keen Sr and Octa L. Mitchell Keen. He passed away February 22,2021 after a private battle with cancer.

John was one of the Famous Indian Iron Workers. He worked long hours in the most extreme conditions on the tallest structures all across the U.S. He also served as a business agent for the Union Ironworkers. He retired but always kept his spud wrench handy and Redwing work boots close to the door. John was a proud Cherokee Nation Citizen. He served as a delegate to the 1999 Cherokee Nation Constitutional Convention, alongside his brother and dad. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1987-2002. In his later years, he served as an expert and consultant on Indian Law.

He is preceded in death by his beloved Dad, Ralph F. Keen, Sr. John is survived by his mother, Octa L. Keen of Omaha, NE, wife Janella Lowrance Keen of Pampa, TX, his sons Taylor Francis Keen of Pineville, MO and Ralph Keen of Omaha, NE. Step-sons Christian Hinkle of Fort Worth, TX, Travis Hinkle of Fort Worth, TX and Clayton Hall of Pampa, TX, his brothers Ralph Keen Jr of Stilwell, Taylor Keen of Omaha, NE, and his sister, Emerald Sheridan of Owasso.
