Margje Vintges

Margje Vintges passed away peacefully in Tahlequah, Oklahoma June 12 2021, she was 94 years old.

Margje was born August 11, 1926 in Emmen, The Netherlands to Jan and Geertje (De Lange) Arends.

She immigrated to the United States in October 1960 and lived in Michigan, Colorado, California, Tyler, Texas and Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and also spent several years living in The Netherlands.

Margje loved to write poems, do crossword puzzles, paint and volunteer assisting senior citizens, she loved baseball, travelling and spending time at the beach. She worked as a nurse in The Netherlands after World War 2 followed by a career as a mother and a homemaker in the United States.

Margje was preceded in death by her husband, Willem Johan Vintges, her parents, and sister Anne (Arends) Vermeer. She is survived by her loving family including sons, Michael (Katherine) Vintges, John Vintges; grandchildren, Christine (Travis) Leech, Amanda (Jeremiah) Bear, Jonathan (May) Vintges, & Marybeth (Dustin) Cape; 15 great-grandchildren; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Memorial/Celebration services for Margje Vintges will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00am at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Reverend Barbara Morgan officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
