Mary Barnett

Mary Barnett, age 92, daughter of Frederick and Pearl (Krise) Krohne, was born on July 27, 1929, in Elmora, PA, and passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at her home in Lawrence, KS. She graduated in 1947 from Cresson High School, Fallen Timber, PA. She later graduated from Mercy School of Nursing, Altoona, PA, in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. She married Robert L. Barnett on March 8, 1952, in Florida.

Mom loved being a nurse and helping people. She always looked forward to spending time with her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they brought her a lot of joy. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and watching Mother Angelica on EWTN.

She is survived by their seven children: Mary Anne (George) Blackwood, Quenemo, KS; Bob (Kathie) Barnett, Kingfisher, OK; Fritz (Julie) Barnett, Proctor, OK; Melanie (John) Carey, Springfield, OR; Regina Barnett, Tahlequah, OK; Jackie (Faron) Johnson, Kremlin, OK; Connie Hammer, Lawrence, KS; a total of 44 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their spouses.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert L. Barnett, and infant great-grandson Tyler John Strubel; sisters: Betty, Katherine, Marguerite, Irene, and Ruth; brothers: Joseph, John, Charles, George, Steve, James, Patrick, and a set of twins at birth.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital with Hart Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
