Ralph Nihart Ii

March 13, 1968 — November 6, 2020

Oklahoma City

Ralph Fisher Nihart II, Al, beloved Dad, Cool Pops, and friend, went home to be with Jesus at the age of 52 years old on Friday, November 6, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on March 13, 1968 in Winter Park, Florida to Alfred and Geraldine (Ogburn) Nihart and had one brother, Aaron Nihart.

He lived in Arlington, Texas and then went to the Calvary boys ranch and spent many of his teenage years there where he learned to play guitar and any other instrument he could find. He also met the love of his life, Elisha Poteet, during his time there. He and Elisha married in May 1987 and became active members in Old Country Baptist Church playing music and serving in the church. They had Lacey Nicole Nihart in March 1990. Elisha proceeded him in death in September 1996. He married DeAnna Brown in March 1999. They had Kiersten Paige Nihart in April 2001. He had many different careers in his life ranging from grocery stores to owning his own music store to working at CAAIR (an addiction recovery center) to working for Nelson Mazda as the team leader when he died. Al was a very talented musician in which he played guitar, bass, and many other instruments. He also had the most beautiful baritone singing voice and led music at his church for many years. He loved to fish and golf any chance he got and had recently bought a kayak and enjoyed that as well. He found peace when playing music in the worship band at Mount Herman Church in Jay, Oklahoma. More than anything, he would brag on his girls and grandkids. Boy was he proud of them. The number one thing people would say about Al is how funny he was. Al was always doing some off-the-wall thing to keep people laughing. He loved CAAIR (Christian Addicts and Alcoholics in Recovery) and went through the year long program two times. Once in 2014 and again in 2017. During his good times, he was a man who deeply loved God and talked to him often to guide his steps. He had a heart for helping people who suffered from addiction. He touched so many lives by his testimony and the way God restored his life so many times. He had professed to be born again and we can rest peacefully knowing he’s in Heaven now with our Lord and Savior.

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Elisha. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lacey and David, daughter, Kiersten, grandchildren, Copper, Zane, and Riley, his parents, Bud and Geri Nihart, brother, Aaron Nihart and wife, and many nieces and nephews.
