Rosie Lee North the daughter of George and Mary (Goingsnake) Stopp was born January 11, 1931 in Rose, Oklahoma and departed this life on March 9, 2020 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Rosie enjoyed life and she loved her family. She had a servant's heart, she was a giver, and she loved to help feed the homeless. She volunteered all through her life and was very active in her church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, taking trips with friends and family and going bowling. Rosie's heart of giving was expounded in her choice to be an educator. She had a Master's Degree in Education and teaching was what she poured her life into. She taught in Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma. She earned many teaching awards over the years. Rosie was always trying to set a good example for her family and her friends. She touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Cleveland North; her brother Bob Stopp; her niece Lisa (Stopp) Pena and her nephew Gary Drew Stopp.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her brother Thomas Stopp and wife Joanne of Tahlequah; her sisters Mary Watkins of Salina and Marie Johnson and husband Leonard of Briggs; her niece Leila Brownlee and husband Marvin of Muskogee; her great nieces and nephews Michael Stopp, Amanda Stopp, Jake Stopp, Rashaan Brownlee and Gerald Johnson and her great-great nieces and nephews Mia Stopp, Haley Stopp and Dylan Stopp. Several friends and other relatives also survive her.
Pallbearers will be: Brother; Tommy Stopp, great nephews; Michael Stopp, Jake Stopp, Gerald Johnson, Marvin Brownlee and Rashaan Brownlee.
